Diane Feinstein Articulates Abortion Litmus Test

“If one is pro-choice in this day and age, in this structure, one can’t vote for Judge Alito” These are the words of Diane Feinstein today and, you know, I respect her for them. She has gone on record as stating that, for her, there is an abortion litmus test for Supreme Court nominees no matter how well qualified they may be. Oh, she may have thrown in a few other reservations but does anyone really think that, absent those others, her position would be any different? The farcical dog and pony show will continue, but we may be coming closer to telling it like it is (as Howard Cosell would say); liberal Democrats will oppose any nominee who is not pro-choice. Period. Outside of being pro-choice, pro-affirmative action and anti-war, is there anything else the modern Democratic party stands for? UPDATE: read Ann Coulter's column about the shift in the Dems' position on abortion.
